A Nostalgic Day of Fun and Community

Now in its fourth year, the Fallasburg Village Celebration has become a cherished event for locals and visitors alike. This family-friendly festival offers a full day of entertainment, including live music, classic cars, historical demonstrations, and more. Set in the historic Fallasburg Village, the event takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025. It promises an immersive experience filled with old-fashioned charm and activities for all ages.

Step Back in Time

Visitors can explore four historic locations within Fallasburg, each offering unique insights into the past. From learning about 19th-century schoolhouse life to discovering vintage farming equipment and household artifacts from the 1800s, there’s something for everyone.

This year, the event introduces Fallasburg Covered Bridge tours, held hourly from noon to 4 p.m. Guests can meet in front of the Fallas House and enjoy a guided walk that delves into the bridge’s history and design.

Live Music All Day

The festival features a lineup of talented musicians throughout the day:

  • 10:30–11:30 a.m.: Hawks and Owls perform an acoustic evolution of rural American music.
  • Noon–1 p.m.: Cheater B’s bring Americana, folk, rock, and original songs.
  • 1:30–2:30 p.m.: Chick and the Boomers play classic country and rockabilly.
  • 3:00–4:00 p.m.: Easy Idle showcases bluegrass, gospel, and “old” country.
  • 4:30–5:30+ p.m.: Sophie Bolen delivers heartfelt contemporary country with a Michigan twist.

Classic Cars, Pygmy Goats & Santa

At the Misner House, guests can admire the Classic Car & Motorcycle Show from noon to 3:30 p.m., with registration available from 10 a.m. to noon. Awards will be presented at 3:30 p.m.

Visitors can also interact with adorable pygmy goats from noon to 2 p.m., courtesy of Parkside Farm’s Jump for Joy. For those feeling festive early, Santa will be visiting the Schoolhouse from 1 to 3 p.m. Children can enjoy old-fashioned marble games, sack races, hoop fun, pioneer crafts, and more throughout the day.

Hands-On Fun & Food

There are plenty of interactive activities to enjoy, including blacksmithing at the Tucker Town Forge, glass blowing, weaving sessions, and ice cream making. Guests can also try their hand at croquet, use antique typewriters to type their own short stories, and enjoy metal detecting fun.

Kids will love the mini-horse cart rides, Civil War reenactments, tractor show, and various games and crafts scattered throughout the village.

When it's time to refuel, affordable meal options are available, such as walking tacos, hot dogs, BC Pizza, and BBQ pulled pork sandwiches. Don’t miss the root beer tent and the chance to help churn fresh ice cream.

Community-Powered Celebration

Admission to the event is free, with a $5 fee for parking. While food is reasonably priced, donations are appreciated for treats like ice cream and root beer. The celebration is made possible by over 50 generous sponsors and community partners.

Major sponsors include Horizon Bank, King Milling, Litehouse Foods, Herbrucks Poultry Farm, and Meijer. Many partners also donate services, such as Taylor Maids, who clean the museums, or 616 Junk, which provides dumpster service for the day.

Bruce Doll, president of the Fallasburg Historical Society, highlights the community effort behind the event. “Lots of people make this happen,” he says. “We are an all-volunteer organization, and this event would not be possible without the valued individuals who give their time and talents to make it special.”

Whether you’re a history buff, music lover, or simply looking for a fun day out with the family, the Fallasburg Village Celebration is sure to delight.
