During a memorable encounter at a charity event in 2014, actor Luke Evans had an enlightening conversation with then-Prince Charles. This discussion, which took place at The Savoy Hotel in London, became the highlight of Evans' experience as he shared insights from his memoirs.

Evans was appointed as an ambassador for what is now known as The King's Trust, a charitable organization founded by Charles in 1976 to support disadvantaged youth in Britain. At the time, Evans had just finished filming Dracula Untold, where he portrayed Vlad Tepes III, also known as Vlad the Impaler or Vlad Dracula. According to Evans, the Prince’s eyes "lit up" as he began to share a surprising family connection. “I'll tell you an interesting story. I'm actually related to Vlad Tepes,” Charles said, much to Evans’ astonishment.

The monarch then went on to explain his entire lineage, tracing back to the 1400s. He even mentioned his ownership of multiple estates in Romania, the region once ruled by Vlad the Impaler. This revelation left Evans in awe, and he noted that the King seemed genuinely excited about the topic.

Evans observed that Charles lingered longer than usual during their conversation, which he attributed to the intriguing nature of their discussion. The actor reflected on how Charles made him feel genuinely interested in what he had to say, despite the numerous interactions the royal must have each day.

Evans expressed his surprise that someone in such a high-profile position could maintain such a personal connection with others. He noted that he expected frequent meetings might make someone seem "robotic," but instead, he found Charles to be deeply engaged and sincere.

Recent reports indicate that some gardeners at Highgrove, one of Charles's residences, have resigned due to overwhelming workloads and low pay. According to a report in The Sunday Times, out of 12 full-time gardeners employed in 2022, 11 have left, including key staff members.

Charles is known for conducting morning walkabouts, where he gives detailed instructions to his staff. These instructions are often written down and acted upon before his next visit. He is also said to send notes in "thick red ink," filled with specific and emotional guidance for his team.
