Pour Decisions Bar Energizes Downtown Alton with New Events

A New Vision for Downtown Alton

Pour Decisions, located at 204 State Street, is more than just a bar—it's a vibrant hub of community engagement and entertainment. Founded by business partners Stacy Roach and Brian Trust, the establishment has quickly become a staple in downtown Alton. Since opening in October 2024, it has been dedicated to bringing people together and supporting the local area through a variety of events and offerings.

The Purpose Behind Pour Decisions

Brian Trust explains that the bar was created with a clear mission: to provide a space where locals can enjoy a wide range of activities without having to travel far. "It's not just a typical bar. It's more like 'what a beep are these guys doing this weekend?' because we do it all," he says. From line dancing and talent shows to beach parties and live music, the bar offers something for everyone every weekend.

Stacey Roach adds that the idea for the bar came from her own experiences as a bartender and business owner. After running the Rubber Duck in Wood River, she realized she wanted to take control of her own ventures. Brian, who had experience in both business and entertainment, joined forces with her to bring the vision to life.

Building a Community-Focused Business

The partnership between Roach and Trust began when they met while Brian was DJing at a local bar in Wood River. Over the years, their friendship grew, and when Stacey decided to open a new bar, Brian was eager to support her dream. Their collaboration includes not only the bar itself but also a family-oriented approach to business.

"We’re family here. None of our workers are just workers. We’re all family, we look out for each other," Roach emphasizes. This sense of community extends beyond the bar, with employees looking after each other’s children and supporting one another in daily life.

Supporting the Local Economy

One of the key goals of Pour Decisions is to help downtown Alton thrive. Brian Trust explains that the bar is not just about promoting itself, but also about encouraging people to explore the entire downtown area. "This isn’t a franchise. I’m not just promoting Pour Decisions in my ads, I’m promoting everybody because at the end of the day, we just want you to come downtown, have a couple drinks with us, then enjoy the community."

Alton’s downtown is known for its tight-knit community, with multiple bars within a short distance. Each establishment has its own unique niche, from liquor slushies and dance floors to breakfast shots and wine tastings. By working together, the businesses create a lively atmosphere that benefits everyone involved.

Events and Offerings

Pour Decisions offers a range of events and services to keep the community engaged. The bar features a VIP lounge upstairs that can be rented for private parties, as well as a backroom that accommodates up to 100 people. The space is used for DJ performances, dining, and even hosting local artists for music video shoots.

Stacey Roach highlights the bar’s culinary offerings, which include two distinct restaurants under one roof. From 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., the kitchen serves breakfast and lunch as Savory Little Things, and then transforms into Beyond Taste, offering soul food from 5 p.m. onward.

Future Plans and Goals

Looking ahead, Brian Trust and Stacy Roach are focused on revitalizing downtown Alton. They hope to bring back the block parties and community events that once made the area a thriving destination. "It’s not about Pour Decisions, it's about downtown Alton," Trust says. "We want to be the unity in the community and where we all win."

With a commitment to diversity in events, food, and people, Pour Decisions continues to evolve and grow. Whether it's through social media promotions, guest DJs, or local talent showcases, the bar remains a dynamic space where creativity and community come together.
