Severe Disruptions Impact Multiple Transport Lines

Commuters in London and surrounding areas are facing significant disruptions across various transport networks. The District line is experiencing severe delays between Edgware Road and Wimbledon due to an earlier signal failure. This issue marks the second consecutive day of disruptions on the line, following a part-suspension on the previous day caused by a fault in the Wimbledon area. Transport for London (TfL) reported that other Tube lines are operating with good service.

In addition to the District line, there are severe delays on the Central line between Leytonstone and Epping. Minor delays are also affecting other parts of the Central line due to train cancellations. Commuters can use their tickets on buses without any additional cost.

Further delays are reported on the District line between Upminster and Barking, as well as between Edgware Road and Wimbledon, due to a signaling problem at Wimbledon Park. Meanwhile, the Central and Waterloo and City lines are also experiencing delays.

M25 Congestion and Traffic Updates

Commuters on the M25 are encountering moderate congestion across different sections this morning. Drivers on the M25 anticlockwise between junctions 4 and A224 are facing delays of up to 10 minutes until around 8:45 am. Similarly, traffic on the M25 anticlockwise at several entry slips, including junctions 12, 22, and 26, is experiencing delays of up to 10 minutes until around 8:45 am.

Trains running between Waterloo and Portsmouth may face delays of up to 25 minutes due to an earlier fault on a train at Farnborough. While service recovers, trains running between Basingstoke and Woking may be delayed or cancelled until around 12 pm.

Disruptions to trains running between Brighton and London are expected until 8:30 am. As a result of a points failure in Brighton, Gatwick Express services between Victoria and Brighton may be delayed by up to 30 minutes.

A lane is closed on the M4 eastbound between junctions 5 and 4B due to a broken-down vehicle. The incident is causing minor delays, with normal traffic conditions expected by 9:30 am.

Additional Disruptions and Updates

More District line stations are experiencing disruptions as services between Edgware Road (Circle Line) and Wimbledon face severe delays. Tubes running between these stations are delayed as a result of an earlier signal failure at Wimbledon Park. TfL reported good service on the rest of the line at 7:45 am.

Trains running from London to Brighton are facing delays of up to 30 minutes due to a points failure at Brighton. Gatwick Express services between Victoria and Brighton, as well as Thameslink services between Cambridge and Brighton, will be impacted. Delays are expected until 8 am.

Tickets are being accepted on buses, the Elizabeth line, and Great Western Railway trains. Elsewhere, the Northern line is part-suspended on northbound services between Kennington and Camden Town via Bank due to a security alert at Euston. While there is good service on the rest of the line, tickets are being accepted on buses, Thameslink, and Southeastern services.

Lines have now re-opened between Hither Green and Dartford following a tree blocking the railway at Mottingham. While service recovers, trains running between Hither Green and Dartford may be cancelled or delayed by up to 15 minutes. Disruption is expected until 12:30 pm on trains between Charing Cross and Dartford / Gravesend, and on Cannon Street circular services.

A tree blocking the railway line between South Tottenham and Harringay Green Lane means the line is currently closed. No trains will run between Gospel Oak and Barking Riverside until around 12:15 pm. Tickets will be accepted on buses at no extra cost.

Ongoing Challenges and Travel Advice

The M25 clockwise entry slip at junction 3 is expected to remain closed until 4:30 pm after a lorry struck a bridge earlier this morning. One lane of the M25 clockwise between junctions 3 and 4 opened at around 10:45 am, but the other two lanes are expected to remain closed until 3:30 pm.

Trains between Paddington and Hereford are facing delays of up to 15 minutes after a tree was blocking the railway in the Worcester Shrub Hill area. Disruption is expected until 1 pm to trains between Hereford and Paddington, as well as Hereford and Birmingham New Street.

A fallen tree has been identified as the cause of Liverpool Street train delays. Trains running from Colchester to Liverpool Street are disrupted by overhead wire issues in the Colchester area. Network Rail engineers have identified a fallen tree as the potential cause of the issue in the area between Colchester and Ipswich. Disruptions, including delays of up to 20 minutes, are expected until 2 pm.

The entire Suffragette line is suspended due to a tree blocking the track. This comes as the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning as strong winds of up to 50 mph are set to hit London, with the potential to cause further disruption to travel.

Two of the three lanes on the M25 clockwise between junctions 3 and 4 are expected to remain closed until 2:30 pm. The M25 clockwise entry slip at junction 3 is expected to remain closed until 3:45 pm.

Earlier delays on the Bakerloo line have now cleared. There are minor delays on the District line between Parsons Green and Wimbledon due to a signal failure at East Putney. There is good service on all other lines according to TfL.

Commuters on the M25 are facing further traffic chaos as the M25 anticlockwise entry slip at junction 29 is closed due to an earlier collision. As a result, severe delays of up to 50 minutes have built up between junctions 30 and 29. The event is expected to clear by 11:45 am. Meanwhile, the M25 clockwise between junctions 3 and 4 will remain closed until around 1:15 pm following an earlier incident in which a lorry collided with a bridge.

Trains running from Liverpool Street to Ipswich are delayed due to overhead wire issues between Colchester and Ipswich. Services between these stations may be cancelled or delayed by up to 20 minutes until around 11 am. Other stations impacted include Norwich, Manningtree, and Harwich Town.

Earlier delays on the Central line due to train cancellations have cleared. Meanwhile, the Bakerloo and District lines are experiencing ongoing delays, while there is good service on all other lines.

Commuters have taken to social media to complain about disruptions on the M25. One user described the M25 as “jarring,” while another user said they were glad not to be on the road.

The road is closed in the anticlockwise direction between junctions 3 and 4, with heavy traffic building up towards junction 2. Commuters will face delays of up to 50 minutes and a diversion route has been put in place.

Lines have re-opened following an earlier train fault in Richmond. While service recovers, trains between Staines and Clapham Junction via Richmond may be delayed by up to 30 minutes until 11 am. Routes between Windsor and Eton Riverside and Reading and Waterloo are impacted. Tickets can be used at no extra cost on buses between Richmond and Waterloo on District line Tubes and buses.

Trains between Charing Cross and Cannon Street are delayed due to a tree blocking the line near Mottingham. As a result, trains between Hither Green and Dartford may be diverted via the Bexleyheath line, cancelled or delayed by up to 15 minutes. Trains on the Sidcup and Hayes line are also impacted.

There are delays on the Central line due to train cancellations. Other lines including the Bakerloo, District, Metropolitan, and Waterloo and City are also delayed.

A spokesperson for the Met Police has confirmed there were no injuries in a collision this morning after a lorry became stuck under a bridge on the M25. A spokesperson for the Met Police told My London: "Kent Police was called at 4:46 am on Monday 15 September to a report that a lorry had struck a bridge on the clockwise carriageway of the M25 between junctions 3 and 4. Patrols attended the scene alongside highways officers and the carriageway was closed at junction 3 to allow the recovery of the vehicle." The Crockenhill Road bridge was hit by the lorry, according to traffic monitoring site INRIX.

Lines have re-opened following a fault on a train at St Albans City. Disruption is expected until 9:30 am while service recovers. As a result, trains running between St Pancras and Luton may be cancelled or delayed by up to 20 minutes.

A fault on a train at Richmond means rail services between Staines and Clapham Junction via Richmond may be delayed by up to 30 minutes. Disruption is expected until 10 am and train crew are currently working to fix the issue.

There are minor delays on the Waterloo and City line due to a faulty train. Meanwhile, the Bakerloo, District, and Metropolitan lines are also experiencing delays.

One of four lanes is closed on the M25 clockwise near Potters Bar between junctions 24 and 25 due to a vehicle tyre change. The incident is expected to clear by 9:00 am, while normal traffic conditions are expected by 9:45 am.

There is good service on the Northern line following earlier delays caused by a points failure at Camden Town.

Lancaster Gate is closed due to unavailability of station staff. Tickets are being accepted at no extra cost on buses.

Trains from Southampton to Waterloo will face delays until 10 am due to an earlier tree blocking the line between Hamble and Bursledon. While service recovers, trains running between Southampton and Fareham on the route towards Waterloo may be cancelled or delayed by up to 15 minutes until around 10 am.

A fault with the signaling system between Nuneaton and Hinckley is causing disruption to trains between Birmingham New Street and Stansted Airport. Trains may face delays of up to 30 minutes until around 9 am.

As a result of a fault on a train at St Albans City, some Thameslink lines are blocked. Trains travelling through this station towards Gatwick Airport, Elephant and Castle, and Luton may be cancelled or delayed by up to 20 minutes until around 9:00 am.

A section of the M25 travelling clockwise between junctions 3 and 4 is closed after a vehicle collided with a bridge. Traffic will be hit with delays of up to 50 minutes until around 10:15 am. The M25 clockwise entry slip at junction 3 is also closed.

Trains travelling between Guildford and Waterloo are facing delays until around 9:00 am due to a signaling problem in the Aldershot area. While engineers are on route to the site, trains running between Ascot / Woking / Guildford and Aldershot may be cancelled, delayed, or revised.

Commuters will face delays on Bakerloo and Northern line Tubes this morning. The Bakerloo line is facing delays due to train cancellations, meanwhile the Northern line is disrupted due to an earlier points failure at Camden Town.

Trains running between St Pancras and Blackfriars are disrupted due to a signaling fault. As a result, trains may be cancelled or delayed until around 8:00 am. Thameslink peak services between Luton and Orpington, and between Bedford and East Grinstead will be cancelled.

National Rail has advised commuters to allow extra time for journeys to account for the disruption. Alternative travel options include:
