I stayed at Corfu's latest all-inclusive resort
A Secluded Paradise on the East Coast of Corfu
Nestled on the quieter east coast of Corfu, this high-end all-inclusive resort offers a unique blend of relaxation and luxury. Located above the Ionian Sea in Agios Ioannis Peristeron, the hotel is surrounded by pine-covered hills on one side and turquoise waters on the other. Just a 30-minute drive from Corfu airport, it also features its own stretch of beach accessible via a private walkway. Despite the busy road connecting the main building to the beach, the location still manages to feel like a secluded escape.
There are no nearby shops or bars, which may be a downside for some, but it adds to the tranquil atmosphere. Several bus routes run right outside the hotel, but for those looking to explore beyond the resort, a car is recommended.

The Vibe: A Relaxed All-Inclusive Experience
Upon arrival in the evening, guests are greeted by a local three-piece band playing 90s Euro pop, creating a lively yet relaxed ambiance. This all-inclusive hotel offers everything you need for a stress-free holiday—cold beers, friendly staff, and endless buffets. The decor features pale wood, lots of glass, and soft Mediterranean tones, giving it a modern and glossy feel. However, during our visit at the end of the summer, there were still signs of ongoing construction, including pencil markings on the walls.
With just over 200 rooms, the resort feels large but not overwhelming. We visited in October when the mood was calm, but we were told that during peak summer, the beaches, pool area, and restaurant are much more lively.
Service: Friendly and Attentive
The staff at Valmar Corfu are consistently friendly, especially at the restaurant where your glass will never be empty. The resort maintains an easy-going pace, with entertainment teams offering yoga classes and quizzes. There’s no forced activity or thumping music, making it a peaceful place to unwind.
At all three restaurants, the staff is highly accommodating, ensuring a comfortable dining experience. Whether you're enjoying a casual meal or a themed dinner, the service remains top-notch.
Accommodation: Modern and Well-Equipped
The hotel boasts 201 rooms spread across seven floors, including 133 superior rooms, 33 superior triple rooms, 24 family rooms, six family grand suites, and six grand suites. In general, the accommodation is neat, modern, and well-equipped. Double and twin rooms come with balconies or terraces, Nespresso machines, minibars, and smart TVs. The suites offer more space and upscale touches.

The ocean views from the rooms are stunning, and the sunrise over the Ionian Sea is definitely worth waking up for. However, not all rooms offer sea views. While the style is aesthetically pleasing and modern, it may not reach the level of top-tier five-star resorts. Entry-level rooms have limited storage space, which could be a minor inconvenience.
Food and Drink: A Culinary Journey
This hotel is a haven for food lovers, offering a variety of dining options. There are three different restaurants, including a buffet and two table-service venues. The themed evening restaurants include Mediterranean by the beach and Peruvian fusion on the rooftop. The main restaurant hosts theme nights, such as Mexican, Greek, and Middle Eastern, while also offering a vast buffet for breakfast and lunch.
The food is better than expected given the wide range of choices, catering to even the most fussy eaters. There are bar areas by the private beach, in the hotel lobby, and by the pool, all serving draft beers, coffees, and various alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Facilities: Ample Entertainment and Amenities
Despite its secluded location, the hotel offers plenty to keep guests entertained throughout the day. There are three pools (main, adult-only with jacuzzi, and family), a gym, a spa, tennis courts, live music most evenings, and yoga sessions. Sunloungers are often in high demand, so it's advisable to arrive early to secure your spot.
Families will appreciate the safe and spacious environment, with a shallow pebbled bay accessible via a lift and tunnel under the coastal road. There is also a kids’ club, car rental service, and on-call doctor available.

Accessibility and Pet Policy
The hotel, its restaurants, and the beach are all wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately, no pets are allowed at the resort.
Check-In and Check-Out
Check-in is available from 3pm, and check-out must be completed by 12pm.
Family-Friendly Features
This hotel is ideal for families seeking a safe and enjoyable holiday. There are plenty of activities to keep children entertained, and the buffet caters to all ages. Cots for babies are available upon request.
