Walk the Labyrinth

One event that encourages reflection and calm is “Labyrinth – A Meditative Prayer.” This activity takes place on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. in the social hall at the United Congregational Christian Church, located at 900 Hodgson St., Eureka. The public is welcome to participate.

According to a press release, a labyrinth is a path that leads to the center and back out again, offering a natural way to find peace and clarity. It’s a great opportunity to practice mindfulness and gain insight through movement and meditation.

Tour the Marsh

For those interested in nature and local history, Friends of the Arcata Marsh will host a free tour of the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary on Saturday. The tour begins at 2 p.m. in the lobby of the Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center on South G Street. Leader Ren Bunce will guide participants through a 90-minute walk, sharing insights into the area's history and its wastewater treatment plant. Along the way, attendees will also learn to identify plants and birds.

This event is held regardless of weather conditions, making it a great choice for nature enthusiasts. For more details, call 707-826-2359.

Cycle at the Marsh

On Sunday, Andy Feinstein, a member of Friends of the Arcata Marsh and an experienced cyclist, will lead a “Second Sunday Cycling Tour” of the Arcata Marsh. The event starts at 2 p.m. at the Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center. Participants will explore the “Three Ws of the Marsh”: wetlands, wildlife, and wastewater treatment.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own bike or e-Bike and wear a helmet. All ages are welcome, and participants will receive a free FOAM logo bike bell. However, heavy rain may cause the outing to be canceled. For more information, contact 707-826-2359.
