News we're reading • $10B One Beverly Hills project goes vertical — A massive $10 billion One Beverly Hills complex at Wilshire and Santa Monica boulevards is now rising above ground, marking a major new phase of construction in the city. The ultraluxury project will add Aman-branded condos, a hotel, high-end retail and restaurants, plus 10 acres of botanical gardens linking the Beverly Hilton and Waldorf Astoria, with phased openings starting in 2027. • Why Is Celebrity Facialist Sonya Dakar Getting Sued? — A client is suing celebrity facialist Sonya Dakar over an alleged 2021 treatment at Dakar’s Beverly Hills studio, claiming it left her with lasting facial damage and led to costly follow-up visits. The woman has also prompted a state complaint seeking to revoke Dakar’s licenses, raising broader questions about safety and oversight in high-end skincare practices. • It's Not Just ‘Ozempic Makeovers': Slimming Procedures Surge As Thin Becomes Trendy Again — A Beverly Hills plastic surgeon says he’s seeing more patients request slimming procedures and “Ozempic makeovers” as thinner body types trend again, even among people not taking weight-loss drugs. The story explains how rapid weight loss can change facial and body contours, why requests for Brazilian butt lifts are dropping, and how strength training can help preserve a healthier, more athletic look. 📸 Around Beverly Hills Show off your photography skills and the sights around town!
