Use Path Actions to Your Advantage

This is facilitated through the reputation system, which allows players to obtain useful items for use in combat or to sell. When interacting with an NPC, you will typically see options such as Path Action Entreat or Purchase. Entreat allows you to receive items for free from NPCs, while Purchase lets you buy items from them.

Both of these actions can generate significant cash, as some items obtained through the Entreat Path Action can be sold at a high price. Additionally, you can haggle with NPCs to purchase items that can later be resold for more money. It's important to look for items that have a description indicating they can be sold for a fair, modest, or better price, as these will yield more profit when acquired for free or through negotiation.

Sell Your Extra Goods

When it comes to selling items, you will encounter many from chests that range from simple weapons and armor to healing items and more. Any items you don't need should be taken to the nearest shop. While all shops seem to offer the same price for items, it's advisable to get rid of all extra items you have, unless you plan on using them.

One class type is the Merchant, who has a passive ability that allows them to collect extra money from battles. Some abilities in the game can also earn more money from defeating enemies, and others let you steal extra money during battle.

Caits and Octopuffs

There are two types of rare monsters you can find in Octopath Traveler 0: Caits and Octopuffs. These monsters have multiple variants depending on where you are in the game, but you should always fight them. Defeating a Cait or Octopuff grants bonus experience as well as a good amount of extra money.
