Ski Near Cleveland: 2025-26 Season Updates and Costs

Cleveland, Ohio – A recent stretch of cold and snowy weather has brought excitement to many skiers and snowboarders in Northeast Ohio. With the slopes already open and welcoming visitors, the region is preparing for a season filled with new features and amenities for the 2025-2026 ski season.

The Plain Dealer/Cleveland.com’s annual Ski Guide offers detailed information on 14 regional resorts within a short drive of Cleveland, although "short" is relative in this case. All ski resorts near Cleveland share basic features such as lodges with food and drink, lessons, and equipment rentals. However, beyond these basics, the amenities vary widely. Some resorts offer overnight lodging close to the slopes, while others have spas or additional activities like snow tubing, cross-country skiing, and carriage rides.
Last season, ski resorts across the United States recorded 61.6 million visits, marking the second-highest number in history after the 2022-2023 season. Regional resorts also performed strongly, benefiting from sustained cold temperatures throughout the winter. Boyne Mountain Resort in northern Michigan even extended its season into May, making it the longest in its history.

However, success comes with increased prices. Daily lift tickets at many regional resorts now exceed $100, including at Holiday Valley and Seven Springs. Peek’n Peak in western New York remains relatively affordable, with an all-day Saturday lift ticket priced at $81. Snow Trails, near Mansfield, offers tickets at $60 during the week and $70 on weekends.

To keep skiers coming back, many resorts are investing in new features and amenities. Improvements include enhanced snowmaking at Boston Mills, lift upgrades at Snow Trails and Holiday Valley, and new dining options at Peek’n Peak and Seven Springs.
