Disneyland Faces 3 Major Closures Soon

Staying informed about the latest updates at Disneyland is essential to ensure a smooth and enjoyable visit. The ongoing refurbishment schedule indicates that starting next month, three major attractions in a popular area of Disney California Adventure will be closed simultaneously. This information is crucial for planning your trip and avoiding any unexpected surprises.
Key Closures in Pixar Pier for 2026

According to the current refurbishment calendar, a significant number of attractions in Pixar Pier will be closed during part of January 2026. This time of year typically offers lower crowds, making it an ideal period for visits. However, it also means that Disney often uses this slower period to carry out necessary maintenance and upgrades. These closures coincide with a busy holiday weekend, which could impact visitor experiences.
It’s rare for Disney to close so many attractions in one area at the same time, so it's important to be aware of these changes if you have plans to visit. While the dates may still change, the current schedule shows that these closures will overlap.
Restaurant Closures in Pixar Pier

Two highly-rated dining locations, Lamplight Lounge and Lamplight Lounge – Boardwalk Dining, will be closed starting mid-January. These restaurants are among the top choices for visitors and are known for their popularity. According to the Disneyland website, both locations will be closed from January 12, 2026, with no reservations available from January 16 through January 20. Although there is a possibility that they may reopen on January 21, no official reopening date has been announced yet.
This closure coincides with the ongoing transformation of Napa Rose, the flagship restaurant at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. There is currently no scheduled opening date for Napa Rose, adding to the challenge of finding dining options during this period.
Additional Attractions Closing in Pixar Pier

In addition to the restaurant closures, several rides in Pixar Pier will also be closed during this time. Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind and Incredicoaster will be closed starting January 5, 2026, and remain closed through at least January 15. These closures were not related to the new Coco ride being built nearby, as confirmed by Disneyland.
In 2025, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind was closed from January 6 to January 23, suggesting that the closure this year may last a similar duration. The Incredicoaster closure is also expected to be of comparable length.
Other Closures at Disneyland Park
During this time, additional closures will occur at Disneyland Park. The Haunted Mansion will be closed to remove its seasonal overlay after the holidays, and the Mark Twain Riverboat will also close for refurbishment on the same day.
